Public Market

The Stone Mill Public Market provides hard good and prepared food businesses the opportunity to participate in the greater Middlebury retail market without the daily burden of managing labor and point of sale needs. In a highly curated environment, the market will become a new daily destination for residents and visitors, offering a place to gather, shop, and purchase items ranging from gifts to dinner.

Outdoor seating is available weather permitting. The building is ADA accessible. For information on Public Market events, please click here.

Our Current Market Partners Include

Dedalus Wine and Cheese

Dedalus started out as a little backroom wine shop with a dozen or so selections. Just the stuff they wanted to drink but couldn’t find anywhere else. Over the years they have grown to become one of the best indie wine shops in the country, located in Burlington, Vermont. Now, they are coming to Middlebury. With accessible wines at affordable prices, Dedalus Wine brings expertise and fun to The Stone Mill Public Market.

Lost Monarch

Matt and Aless met in 2011 in Bethel, CT at Matt’s second coffee shop job. Aless came in for open mic night, noticed the cute barista behind the bar, asked for his number, and… they have been inseparable ever since. Pretty early on, the two began mentioning the idea of opening a coffee shop one day. In 2018, Matt and Aless decided to seriously start looking for locations for the shop. Middlebury was the obvious choice. This will be their 2nd location, after opening Royal Oak Coffee. We are thrilled to have them!

The Stone Mill Collection

A curated collection of the founders' favorites, here you will find things that Stacey Rainey and Mary Cullinane like to eat... help them think... and let them celebrate. From candy to cards, bags to Bee's Wrap, each item has a story and they are excited to share! Also within the collection is a highlighted area demonstrating the entrepreneurial spirit of Middlebury College. With products brought to market by current and former students, The Midd-section can't be missed!
